It is advised to change every day small sums of money because the inflation
of leu is very high. The small change currencies are generally reliable and
expose every day the changes that had been made.
Always inform yourself
in advance on the prices in public (taxis,not exposed prices,
etc).
Always use drink water from sealed bottles ( most important marks:
Borsec, Perla , Perla Harghita , Doina ).The food is very caloric, and does not
have particular hygienic problems.
Visitors are allowed to import up to 200 cigarettes 4 litres
of wine and 1 litre of spirits.Technically,cash over US$1000 must be
declared.
Speed inside the city is limited 50km/h (90km/h
out of the town) and is strictly enforced by the police.
Drink driving
(any alcohol over the limit) is punishable by confiscation of license.
